Time Traveler- What to Wear
via Weather.com
With our beach honeymoon over, the nonstop rain in Atlanta, and the first glimpse of changing leaves, I have settled into the fact that Fall is on its way. What better way to celebrate Fall (and Fashion Week) than with the sweater.
My mother-in-law emailed me last week with her latest purchase- a cashmere travel sweater from The Gap- know that with my frequent work travel, I am constantly on the lookout for great separates perfect for travel. My definition of perfect travel separates- comfy, cozy, but able to be worn without looking like I rolled out of bed (so wrinkle-resistant is a must, too). I have been known to wear my pinstriped Lululemon yogawear, for example, with a blazer and David Yurman jewelry.
Below is a smattering of items I've found that I think are perfect travel wear. Of course, with many of them, one runs the risk of looking sloppy. But I think with the right accessories, we could pull it off!
What do you think? (oh and pardon all the belly-buttons here... I prefer to wear the pants not-quite that low!).
Lululemon
Sadly, Lululemon's site still leaves a bit to be desired from an online shopping perspective. That said, the quality fabric (excluding the reflective logo on some of the pant legs!) makes it easy to "dress" it up. And I love these jackets!
Lucy
Another activewear house, Lucy offers a variety of workout gear and casual attire.
Neiman Marcus
The epitome of style, Neimans has tons of great offerings. All look comfortable and far from slouchy. And several are actually resonably priced!
Banana Republic
Lots of great sweater options here, but no relaxed trousers.
Gap
Banana's "little sister" offers a bit of both. (sidenote: my mother in law purchased the sweater on the far left).
Piperlime
In case you missed the notice, Piperlime is now selling clothing. Here are some great options.
JCrew
And the go-to preppy source, JCrew is light on the stretchy/wrinkle resistant trousers but a fantastic source for tops.
MyShape
Y'all know this is one of my favorite sites and there are tons of great options here.
Shopbop
More on the Neiman's end, with lots of stylish finds here.
Any other travel fasion must-haves or helpful hints?
