Candler Park Fall Fest- a look at an Atlanta In-Town Neighborhood

Mr. Southern and I attended the Candler Park Fall Fest this weekend to show Kaylee at Rescue Me's tent. I thought I'd share a little of Candler Park with you today! The area was founded as Edgewood in 1890, but residents petitioned it be part of Atlanta in the early 1900s. The area got its name after Asa Candler (of Coca-Cola fame) donated land in 1992. Candler Park is notably just east of the arts area known as Little Five Points and near Emory University. 1920s Craftsman-style homes dominate the landscape and the neighborhood is listed on the National Register of Historic places. While the median home price is around $450k, there are quite a few different offerings.

I have totally fallen in love with this property- a bank-owned collection of condos around $100k.

Look at the light!

This one is a bit more representative of the Craftsman style, listed for $557k. Also features a separate 1br, 1ba apartment.

Similar, but a bit smaller with I think just 3 bedrooms for $325. I love the covered side porch.

A 4 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath Craftsman for $550k. It still is a bit cozy-feeling inside.

Another 4 bedroom, this one is one of my favorites. Look at the upstairs porch! For $689k, presumably for upgrades like the kitchen.

Something a little different-- a Victorian, built in 1915. Listed for $378. The interior has some interesting features...

This guy is the priciest option, but has 5 beds, 5 baths, and a 2 car garage (not a guarantee here). $925k.

I love the windows here...

Another upstairs porch!

And while this one is not on the market, I had to share. Appears there was another house in its place at one point. The owners, with architect Jonathan Elmer, are creating an energy efficient modern home. Thoughts?

Candler Park also hosted a home tour Sunday, but unfortunately we missed it.

Hope y'all had a great weekend!
